Year 2000 Bug a Hoax!

Technology : Over the last few years we've seen it everywhere, the advertising, the magazine articles, the daily talk shows. Its the conversation that is becoming as common as the weather but with a dread and potential panic attached like no other..."your microwave won't work", "your car might stop", "the stock market will crash", "you could lose all your money!". But deep within the dark walls of the Silicon Valley this scheme has finally become unstuck, with 3 seperate people now coming forward to come clean and tell the world the truth.

The unamed trio, now under the protection of UN peace keepers, have made brief statements ensuring us that the conspiracy of 2000 has been one of the biggest planned selling ploys in history, "We just went along with it", said hardware designer X, "we've always had a worldwide standard on date chips and the software guys have had the same. 2000's no problem." Programmer, 3PO - his alias whilst under protection, commented, "I just can't believe that people have gone along with it.

They call us computer people brain-e-acks, nerds and stuff but then believe we're stupid enough to make that type of error? Gates was right about the public when he first suggested the idea but now we have to set the record straight." The 3rd traitor to the conspiracy, an ex Microsoft manager, made no comment other than "...all I said was Java looked good and bang, no Christmas bonus, who'll be sorry now hehehehehe."
