The Bribe To Be?
SPORTS! Melbourne. Lawyers for the Pakistan enquiry into match fixing have been accused
for taking bribes themselves whilst in Australia for their short questioning session of
Australian One Day captain Shane Warne and Vice Captain Mark Waugh. In a development only
discovered on the weekend, after the questioning, an anonymous phone call was made to ACB
headquarters suggesting that several exchanges of money were made between a cashier, one
of the Pakistan lawyers and a million dollar jackpot machine at Melbournes Crown Casino.
The jackpot machine was unable to comment however
representatives of Crown assured sources that it did not hand over a cent to the
intruding, hounding, nasty little man. Additionally the cashier was also heard to say that
she was '..happy to accept several bills of fresh Australian currency from the enquiring
lawyer but was forced to hand back an equivalent amount in loose coins...'
ACB officials have apparently indicated that they
will not follow up on the issue after some final information was received that the lawyer
was later forced to leave the complex upon trying to trade a plane ticket for an
additional bucket of one dollar coins.
